This month will be my 10th wedding anniversary. I always said I wanted a diamond trinity band. I really, really want one. There is no way we can afford a diamond ring right now, unless we buy it on credit, and really, is a diamond worth more debt when we are already deeply in debt? There are so many other things our extra money needs to go to. We have a basement to finish, we need to get all our food storage, we need more savings and we need to pay off debts. I keep telling myself all the reasons we can’t get a ring, and they are all really, really good reasons, I still keep finding myself a little sad about the whole thing.
So I decided that I needed a little attitude adjustment.
I am going to count my jewels, my pearls, my diamonds. These are the jewels that I get to take with me. Real diamonds may be really pretty and sparkly, and look oh so nice on my hand, but at the end of it all that ring won’t be on my hand when I meet my maker, howe
ver, my real treasures will be there.
You are absolutely right. And just think, your knowledge is a treasure too. Look at how many of those around us would think that the diamonds are worth getting in too deep for. When we stop to think about all our blessings and set our priorities in the right order we realize how truly rich we are.
I like how happy the “jewel” in the middle looks!
well, sometimes jewels need a little polishing before they sparkle!
Where your treasure is there your heart will be also…It looks likes your priorities are in order and if ye desire riches after desiring righteousness you will have them. The Lord just doesn’t say ‘when’.
And to think, there is more than one chair in the front room. But I guess Mr. Fluffy is the softest chair in the house.
they really are jewels everyone of them!! We love you all.
