(I use the word “crops” very loosely)
Since we are having cold nights now I brought in the onions, we grew about a bushel of onion, enough to last us the winter. I will store them in a bushel basket in the root cellar (ahem, basement, there is a post coming up about my “cellar”)
We are onion eaters, typically I will slice up 3 or 4 onions to go with a beef roast, my kids love the slow cooked onions, so I am happy to have such a big harvest.
Dadzoo spent all day building me a “fence” along the north side of our “property” (hehe, yard)
We are planning to plant raspberries and blackberries along the “fence” to create privacy and another source of food.
Aimee, I hope you know I live vicariously through you… and someday… when I grow up… I wanna be just like you!!!!
Your onions look really good!
I just love how you are doing so much with your yard. My mom does a lot with a very small yard and container gardening.
I wish I had your guts! I'll be doing a garden this year, but I'm afraid to dig up my yard. The lady before us had a beautiful flower garden out there. So far it's looking like our veggie garden will be ~50 sq ft next spring. I'm hopeful it'll look half as good as yours :o)
we are thinking of raspberries and blueberries next year..we have a chain link fence between our yard and the neighbor and it's an unsightly thing that could really benefit from some berry bushes..it's also where i tie up my tomatoes so i don't have to use a bunch of cages…
I am so excited for you to do your grape arbor!!! That is more than exciting! You know me and my grape juice, you so inspire…
