I LOVE THEM!!!! My aunt did this and she is VERY attached to her chickens <3
How sweet!!!! We're getting ready to order ours tomorrow from our local co-op. We're also going to hatch another batch from our own chickens which are the white leghorns. We're hoping to increase our flock to 50 chickens this year…crazy I know!!! Right now we're getting only white eggs, but with the chick-a-dees from co-op we'll also be getting brown eggs. I can hardly wait!!!
You are one lucky ducky! I wish I could raise chickens!!! Take lots of pictures for those living vicariously :o)
I'm so jealous
How exciting! Cute little baby chicks are so fun, and it's such a rewarding thing to be able to get your own eggs! We had (once) a few Rhode Island Reds, an Australian-type, and a few others wandering our backyard several years ago. I miss the egg gathering and lack of backyard bugs, but not the clean up. Still, I'd have chickens today if our little community would allow. (the down side of living in a subdivision) I agree with StrivingSimply: take lots of pictures!
Dang I'm jealous! Maybe in a few years for me…
They are precious! Somebody's gonna have some fresh eggs!!
There are 12 Aruicanas (sp?) and 13 Delaware and one exotic chick thrown in (I don't know what variety the exotic is)
Do you order from McMurray?
Yes, and I would do it again, it was quick and easy and they are so healthy. Better than any of the chicks we bought at feed stores.
