Breath Of Spring

March might have come in like a lion, but has now mellowed out into a soft springtime lamb.

With the coming of sunny days and soft temperatures I feel the great desire to clean out the cobwebs from my brain and house.  One of my most anticipated “firsts” of spring is hanging out the laundry.  The other day was just perfect, the was a light breeze and the temperatures were in the sixties.  I haven’t hung out laundry since before Lydia was born last summer and I had forgotten how much I enjoy hanging laundry.  I had forgotten how fresh and clean everything smells, how much I enjoy the quiet while outside hanging wet clothes, and how much I love the feel of the sun on my face and the breeze in my hair.

What is your favorite “first” of spring?

  1. That’s a hard one—there are so many! Maybe being warm without having to bundle up or seeing the first flowers of spring. A not-so-favorite first of spring…ants:(
I was thinking of getting a clothes line umbrella (takes less space)…how long do clothes take to dry in springtime temps? It has been a long, long, long time since I tried it.

PS: How is your 40 bags project going? Another blogger I follow is doing it too.

    • When the sun was shinning and the temp was about 65 it took a little over an hour, about the same time it would in my dryer. Later in the day the sky was overcast and it took 2+ hours to dry. Not too bad, I think (remembering I am in Utah and the air is very dry ;)). I wasn’t able to dry all my loads today (I did 10, and had to put the last 3 in the dryer so I could get it all done today). In the summertime clothes will dry in about 30 mins!

My 40 bags project is going great, I am suprised how easy it is to fill a bag of trash/donations, and all those spots I have been putting off are getting cleaned out! 🙂

Thanks for the comment, it makes my day 🙂

  2. I love when the wisteria start to bud. Such a lovely southern spring flower when it and the azaleas bloom it is definately spring. The dogwoods, wild jasmine, dewberries, blackberries are all blooming right now. I love walking out the front door and getting the scent of wisteria on the air such a lovely scent.
