Knocking at my Door

Beautiful fall flowers!

This past weekend was cold and wet.
I think it rained non-stop
(that doesn’t happen in Utah very often)
for two solid days.

Sunday night when the clouds parted and the sun came out.

This is what greeted us,
high on the mountain tops.
snow!

Isn’t it beautiful!

  1. It is beautiful and I am getting more excited for fall. But I’m not sure if I’m ready for THAT much cold weather yet. I hope it stays way up on the mountain, just looking pretty for a little longer. (At least until Halloween is over.)
    *hugs*

  2. You got some gorgeous shots! Sunday was so beautiful when the sun came out and the clouds revealed all the snow up there!

  3. How pretty! So how long do you think it’ll be before it makes its way down to the valley?

  4. Jeanette, that is so hard to say, you just never know from year to year. Typically we will have some sort of snow in the valley before Halloween (we have even trick-or-treated in the snow before…brrrr) although it only lasts a day at the most. Usually by mid november into December we start getting some signifigant snow, although we have been into January before and havn’t had any snow.

It all depends on how wet and cold the year is. Most of the time we are cold enough, we just don’t have the moisture to make snow happen.

It also depends on where you live, elavation is a huge factor. It can snow at my in-laws (they live on the foot hills) and only rain at my parents (they are on the valley floor). We can have not evern a drop of rain at my house and across the lake they will have 6 inches. The Mountains and valleys and lakes really make for diffrent weather situations.

Anyway, long answer to short question! lol!
