Dadzoo finally was able to back to work this Monday after three weeks of recovery time from the big fall. He luckily was able to work from home the last week, but he was itching to get back into the swing of things and go to work.
Having him here for that amount of time was a lot of work, especially the first 10 days or so when I had to do just about everything for him. I dressed, bathed, brought him his meals and helped him to the bathroom, gave him his pain pills at all hours of the night and took on all his regular responsibilities.
I learned a lot.
I was happy to do it.
I have finally been able to get back into the swing of things and Monday I tackled the kitchen area, I posted the before pictures on Saturday. Here are the “after” pictures. It sure felt nice to have some order to the house.
This pile of papers needs to be gone through, and my housekeeping binder updated, but at least is it neat.
(even if the picture is blurry….)
I didn’t take a picture of the other chair stacked as high….or the couch….
I swear all I do is laundry.
Ok, I take that back….I swear all I do it pick up after kids, and cook. I really don’t do laundry all week. I usually get it done by Tuesday, mostly done, there always seems to be a pile of socks or underwear that is hanging around wanting to be folded. But anyway, I am babbling….
See this pretty shiny little tool, my in-law’s gave this to me for Christmas, I have wanted one for a while now and I am so excited to have it.
I seriously think I will be making all my pasta fresh from now on, it was so good, and really easy. I didn’t have any whole wheat ground or I would have used that. Last week I made big fat noodles for Chicken Soup with whole wheat and everybody loved it. Making whole wheat pasta from scratch is so much cheaper than buying it.
And last but not least.
A picture of my favorite guy…
I got that same pasta machine for Christmas from my hubby. I love to make fresh pasta. Once the hundred pounds of stored pasta is all gone, I will never buy it again. It’s just that much different. We make lasagna and fettuccine a lot.
Glad hubby is out from underfoot. The mess nearly made me run screaming from the computer room. Kidding.
I love fresh made pasta. I don’t make it nearly as often as I should, but we decided not to put any more dried in the food storage, so that will change sooner than later.
I’m so glad to hear that Dadzoo is feeling better and living life a little more normally. He’s still in our prayers.
*hugs*
I’m glad your husband is feeling better. I love when mine is home, but it is also nice to get back to my regular routine.
Last Saturday I spent 4 hours sorting and folding laundry. And I don’t fold my older kids for them. I think one straight hour was socks- 3 weeks worth.
Wait a minute, “Housekeeping binder”?! I want to learn more about that!!
Could you do a “tutorial” on how you make pasta with your machine? I have wanted one for years but never got around to getting one. (it looks like you have 2 more ideas for posting between my comment and suburbanzoo!)
I’m so glad that Dadzoo is doing better! I LOVE homemade pasta! I won’t make soup without homemade noodles.
I also want to know about your housekeeping binder! That sounds awesome!
I am sorry but WHAT IN THE WORLD is a Housekeeping Binder? Is there something I don’t know? Another way to use office supplies? AT HOME???? Do tell…
You’ll have to give me a lesson on the pasta…I tried in ONCE years ago, and it was so awful, I’ve never done it again!
Glad you’re starting to get your house back!
I am so jealous! I want fresh pasta! It looks so good.
Glad to hear Dadzoo is doing better.
You are so fun Aimee. Love reading your blog and hate getting behind on what you’ve been posting.
SOO nice! I am really jealous of the pasta maker, the pasta looks delicious!!
ok, what is the housekeeping binder for? what do you organize with it? is it organized? and yes, getting the house back to normal after the hubby leaves is so nice…too bad mine is home because of not being employed (stupid economy!)…
Okay, I’m game for a tutorial on pasta making, too. Looks great! Is this housekeeping binder the reason you’re so organized? I’m curious about that, too. I’m getting my pencil and paper ready for these “how to’s”….
Would you share the recipe you used for making pasta? Thanks.
