Lovin’ That Man Parts Deux and Trois

Before I get to Lovin’ My Man I wanted to share with you a really cute idea for Valentines Day.

My friend Frieda from Lovin’ from the Oven did a wonderful tutorial on making heart shaped rolls. How fun is that!

I think making these rolls and serving them to our men hot out of the oven for dinner would defiantly be something loving that would make him feel cared for. If you would like to find out how to make these cute little rolls go here: Puffy Heart Dinner Rolls

Now on to Lovin’ My Man.

I will admit, things haven’t been as wonderfully fabulous as I imagined, and it looks like there has been little interest in this challenge. However I committed to do this so here goes!

Day Deux,
this is what I did to show my man I loved him:
1. Made his favorite Cilantro Rice for dinner
2. I greeted him at the door with a long kiss after his long day of work
3. I ironed all his shirts for the week
(I always iron a shirt for him in the morning, and usually he has to wait around for it, but this week there is no waiting, they are all there for him)

Day Trois
this is what I did to my man I loved him:
1. Served Steak and garlic mashed potatoes for dinner
2. I had the house clean when he got home
3. He is getting another back rub tonight.

So there you go.

Did anyone else to anything? If so please comment and let us all know how you loved your man.

  1. Well Aimee I am sure your hubby really enjoys all the extra care your putting into him even if not alot of people are participating. That is what matters.

I met my hubby for lunch yesterday but haven't really done anything else for him. I am in a rut now so the thought of doing doing special isn't coming to fruition. LOL

  2. I have to admit, this challenge has made me realize just how much I slack off in this department. I have been trying really hard though, so here goes.

So far this week I have given my husband a long kiss and hug when he gets home from work. Last night he got a hand, neck, shoulder and scalp massage, then I told him a list of reasons why I love him. This morning I woke up early to snuggle with him for a little while before he had to get up. (Usually he gets up first and gets the kids breakfast, then comes to rub my head or back to wake me up nicely before he leaves.) I have also been really working at mentioning specific little things that I know are important to HIM during our couple prayers.

This week I am realizing that while we do nice things for each other, I don't do a very good job of making a conscious effort at really letting him know how much I love him. So far this has been a great exercise and I'm glad you challenged us to do it!

  3. I have something to share Aimee. I think it is interesting how much blog reading can influence ones (my) life, even while grocery shopping.
I was in the meat department at the grocery store today when I saw some bratwurst. I thought to myself "Mike loves bratwurst. It has been so long since I bought some for him. He would love it if I got some. But it is not on my menu plan and they are not even on sale." I was about to walk away when I remembered what you are doing here on your blog and thought "just get them! Mike will love it so who cares if it is not something you were planning to buy and serve this week?"
So this weekend my sweet husband, whom I probably nag way more than I should, will get one of his favorite foods as a way for me to show him I love him.
    Thanks Aimee.

  4. How wonderful Aimee…your husband must feel really loved right about now!!! I updated how things went with my husband this week on my blog.

Thanks for such a great challenge!!!

  5. Aimee I agree with the others that you are doing the right thing even if the results/interest hasn't been so apparent to you. I think some readers don't always comment but may very well feel inspired to do some loving things for the special people in their lives! Also, children are always watching their parents and they may very well pass on this week of love to their own spouses one day.

My loving thing for today was taking the dogs outside twice so my sick hubby man would not have to and could instead relax in a nice, warm bath after a hard day of work. Poor sick man is now painting instead of resting…

Keep up the good work and don't feel discouraged.

    Blessings,
    Aimee

  6. I have to admit that being in my last week of pregnancy I feel like I can't and don't want to put much effort into this right now. I hope to do this after the baby is here! In the meantime I have at least been trying to not be a big burden or annoyance no matter how I am feeling.

You are doing a fantastic job! I am sure Mike is loving it!

  7. Let's see after working 40 hours this week, homeschool the kids, make breakfast, lunch and dinner for everyone. Not to mention the other million things that had to get done. What did I do for him? LOL oh honey weclome to the real world.

  8. Anonymous, I am sorry that is your "real world", as for me I choose to make my "real world" one that includes making my husband feel like he is everything to me despite all the other stuff that gets in the way. I am a very busy person too, all it takes is a few minutes a day and I think I can spare that for a man who does so much for me.
