I’ve been tagged!
this one is a fun one that requires little thinking
(whew)
All you have to do is take pictures of the view from your front door and your back door, very simple.

This first one I am standing right in my front door.
however if I step out a little the view gets so much better!
(note: sorry if I sound like I am bragging a bit, but I love where I live and I love the views)

I am standing on the front porch looking north east

I am facing East here
that big beautiful mountain is Timpanogos
it has snow on it all year long and there is a small glacier on the back side.

Here is a little better view, I walked out on the side walk.

I am still looking east, you can see Utah Lake

we have beautiful sunrises

my favorite is when the full moon rises over the lake, there is a glittery moon path on the water,
it is stunning.

Here we are looking out my back door.

We are right up against 100 zillion acres of open land, out here in the western USA that mean a lot of sage brush and dry grass. Sometimes if we have a wet spring, there will be wildflowers, and sometimes, because of stupid people, there will be wild fires.

(I will do a post with wild fire pics another time)

Sometimes, late at night you can hear the coyotes calling.

There are also a lot of snakes, occasionally of the rattling variety.

We get a lot of deer too.

We have even twice rescued Jack Rabbits, who have become trapped in out window wells!

So there you go, my little slice of the world.
I absolutely love it!
There are some challenges living here.

It is really hot and dry (Utah is a desert after all)

We have had cattle and sheep make short work of our gardens more than once.

Grasshoppers ate the first tree we ever planted,

and the deer…well…we all know what deer can do.

I sort of feel like a suburban homesteader, and I am oh so thankful for the grocery store!

I am going to go out on a limb and tag non-family, so of my blogger friends that I have found while browsing the blogs!

so here goes…

I tag

Garibay Soup, Be It Ever So Humble, Mom to Five Kids

and Jesica

(ok fine one family member, she lives far away and I have always wanted to see her house.)

It has been a while

It has been a while since I did a post. The last few days have been crazy! My kids are on Spring Break, so we have been busy doing a whole lot of nothing! Actually we have been doing a whole lot of spring cleaning….yipee for me, not a lot of fun for them.

Thursday we deep cleaned the bed rooms. From the cobwebs on the ceilings to the dust on the baseboards. We cleaned out closets and drawers. About a year ago my two oldest punks move to a new bedroom down stairs. My oldest has a hard time being that far away from her Mom, so we moved her back upstairs and moved Punk #3 downstairs with her sister. That move filled most of Thursday, and so far Punk #1 is doing much, much better.

Friday is our normal cleaning day. I scrubbed kitchens and bathrooms. We also took a couple of hours and went to the park (forgot the camera).
Yesterday (Saturday) my PIC spend the day building me a chicken coop. My chickens are getting big and need some more space. I spent the day running errands and holding up wire and boards where needed. I will post some pictures as soon as I can. I am very excited about my cute little coop.

Last week was a nice week. It was fun having the kids home and getting a lot checked off my to-do list. We have had a lot of wind!!! ARGH!!! I think Wednesday was the only day there weren’t horrible winds! It is driving me nuts! Last night there was so much dust in the air I had to shut the windows, even though the temps were really nice. I am seriously weary of this wind!

On a better note. I got some really beautiful pictures of these itty bitty daffodils that I planted. They are really sweet.

Here they are next to my regular daffodils. See how tiny they are. I planted 100 bulbs, and if it wasn’t so stinking windy I could get out and enjoy them! (and they wouldn’t fade as quickly)

Clothesline

I have been using a clothesline for a few months now. PIC hung it in our unfinished basement. I used it to dry our Levi’s, and I have really liked it. I figure that any electricity I wasn’t using was a few pennies saved on our electric bill, and that is always a good thing.

With the beautiful spring weather and warm days I was anxious to put my clothesline outside in the back yard so I could really use it. I have visions of crisp sheets waving in the summer breeze. On Saturday PIC moved the clothes line outside and I could hardly wait to use it for my Monday washing day.

Monday dawned cold and cloudy

not great weather for drying clothes!

The rain was wonderful for my flowers and veggies.

There is something that is so beautiful and refreshing about a spring rain storm

Although, the rain drops were the only thing that hung from my clothes line that day.

Oh well, there will always be another day

and so many more loads of laundry!
